Volunteer review

The work that Samata is doing with the tribal in the Araku valley is commendable. And, also the engagement with other non-governmental organization in trying to address burning issues across the country is noteworthy. Samata should be working on its outreach program to the youth of the country. There are quite a number of young people who would like to be involved with the organization's brilliant work but due to lack of awareness of the work that the NGO does, many of these youngsters are not being able to contribute. The organization website and facebook page has to be robust in terms of networking.
This field work was life time experience for me. I had the best time of my life, learning things which I couldn't have learnt anywhere else. Policy practitioners must tie up with organisation like SAMATA for a better understanding of the ground realities. the kind of work done SAMATA makes easier to take up further study and work. Suggestions: before sending interns to the field it would be better to take an interview of them to understand their capacity to adapt to hard environment and also their understanding and motivation to work for the people.
The fieldwork with Prithvi Trust was a wonderful experience. Yousuf Beg and other members of his organization were cordial and helped us with the necessary arrangements and provided us with really good rural exposure.
We had a wonderful experience and we hope to come back again.
